First Political Theory Matters podcast

Welcome to the Theory Matters podcast. Theory matters is a podcast discussing political theory and its practical relationship with politics. Rather than theory being pie-in-the-sky thinking, this podcast examines how theory affects politics today, how theory helps us better understand politics and even how theory should influence the practice of politics. There shall be few answers but many discussions with guests articulating their ideas of political theory and politics today. I am hoping to make this a bi-weekly occurrence with regular guests to discuss important questions and themes of politics.

My guest today is Kieran O Meara. Kieran is a thoughtful thinker who is a director and editor at large of E-IR. Alongside his work at E-IR, Kieran also produces a thoughtful blog and podcast called Polit. In today’s podcast, we shall be discussing the role of the state and how that affects political culture such as in America

The podcast accompanies the written content of Theory Matters discussing many of the similar issues my essays address. It is available for all subscribers for a week, and paid subscribers will have indefinite access to the podcast. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed producing it.

My podcasts focus on political theory intersecting with practical political matters. Whilst theory is oftentimes archived away, I believe Theory has a strong place to better understand and explain our political landscape. I hope you enjoy listening :)
